Stories, updates and practice
What we build, what we run into in the port, and how customers use SHIPM8 day to day.
Nothing to host, nothing to upgrade
The real cost of a server in your own office is rarely the licence. It is the upgrade nobody schedules and the person who quietly becomes responsible.

Invoice numbers from source data
Generated invoice numbers can use data from the invoice source, so your numbering can follow your own structure.
Software should not tell you how to work
Your processes are not arbitrary. They are what the port, your principals and your people have taught you. Software that overrules them throws that away.
What a disbursement account has to prove
Every line on a disbursement account is a claim about something that happened in the port. What makes it hold up is the trail behind it.
Counting connected objects
A field can show how many objects are connected to a record. You choose which status field to count on and how the count is displayed.
Number formats in Excel exports
Excel exports set a number format per cell, so amounts and currencies arrive as properly formatted numbers instead of text.
Purchase invoice inbox
A new inbox in the expense list shows incoming purchase invoices with their attachments, and lets you create expenses straight from them.
Templating playground
A new playground page lets you try a template against real data and see the result immediately, including choosing which template to test.
Invoice flow versioning
Invoice flows can now be versioned. Changing a flow no longer affects invoices that were already processed by an earlier version, so past invoicing stays reproducible.
VAT report for invoices
A new report shows invoice lines grouped by VAT code, so you can check the VAT breakdown of your invoicing without exporting everything to a spreadsheet first.
Portbase Ship Operator integration
SHIPM8 now integrates with the Portbase Ship Operator API. This allows you to automatically create, update, declare and cancel vessel visits in the Portbase Port Community System…
IMAP/SMTP email provider support and activities without vessel
When sending a message, you can now select documents that are already stored on the record as attachments.
Parent-child object relationships and enhanced user profiles
You can now view messages and documents from child objects directly in the parent object, making it easier to get a complete overview without switching between records.
